Kirk Miick Resigns from Board; OBYC Accepting New Applicants
Ocean Beach & Yacht Club is said to report that Kirk Miick has resigned from his position on the OBYC Board of Governors. His resignation comes off the heels of selling his Ocean Beach II home and his family relocating to another local community.
Kirk served on the Board for the past 7 years, coming on Board in the midst of the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Being the Flood Plain Manager in Sayreville, Kirk brought a new perspective to rebuilding the community – a voice we were grateful to have been able to hear during our most trying time.
“It wasn’t easy,” he said at his final Board meeting, “but I feel the board made difficult but informed and progressive decisions by changing our Rules and Regulations to address the new FEMA standards.”
Kirk Miick’s presence helped usher in sound, transparent financial decisions during his tenure. He helped to spearhead various initiatives around the community, such as rebuilding the clubhouse, installing a new playground, fixing the bulkhead, and financing the reserve fund – all without raising dues!
Kirk’s brilliance and his penchant for keeping everyone on time will be missed!
