July 21, 2023 The second local beaches lifeguard tournament was held at Normandy Beach this Friday evening. Seven teams competed in seven events, which included an Ironguard. In the Ironguard event, a single team competitor had to run, swim, paddle board and row. Our own OBII lifeguard, Jack, won the Ironguard event. Overall, our OBII lifeguards tied for second place with the Island Beach State Park lifeguards.
July 22, 2023 The third local beaches lifeguard tournament was held at Ocean Beach Shores. Seven teams competed in six events. Five of our OBII lifeguards were selected to compete in all six events.
July 27, 2023 Yesterday evening, OBII hosted its annual Ironman/Ironwoman Lifeguard Competition. Lifeguards from the local beaches competed in 6 events: Swim, Paddle, Kayak, Row, and Beach Flags. In the end, Gavin (OBII) was crowned Ironman, and Mikaela (OBII) was crowned Ironwoman. In second place was Jack (OBII) and Shannon (Seaside Park). Placing third was Matt (OBII) and Laure (OB Shores).
