During the off-season, Ocean Beach & Yacht Club makes our Clubhouse available for private rentals to members in good standing. These events must be scheduled in advance and are based on availability.

Rules for Clubhouse Rental
In consideration of Ocean Beach & Yacht Club, hereinafter the “Club”, renting the clubhouse to me, I agree to the following:
- Maximum capacity (number of guests allowed): 117 seated, 200 standing
- Rentals are only available to members in good standing.
- The club member hosting the event must be present during the entire event, including setup and cleanup. Non-members must never be left alone on club premises.
- The club has the right to refuse a rental if it is felt that the type of function is not appropriate for the facilities or neighborhood.
- Member must certify that the rental of the clubhouse is for personal use and that no commercial, for-profit, or political activities will take place.
- Member must agree to be bound by the Clubhouse Rules and to have the premises cleaned within the rental period, but not later than 10 AM the next day, as described on the Clubhouse Cleaning Checklist.
- Attendance is by invitation only. No public advertising is allowed, which includes newspapers, radio, organizational newsletters, internet advertising, posters, flyers, metered mailings, Facebook, or other social media.
- No fees may be charged or donations collected for any function held in the Clubhouse or in the surrounding areas, except for those hosted by Club sanctioned committees. All fundraising must benefit OBYC.
- Member must agree to conclude the event no later than 1:00 AM and to abide by the Toms River Township and Club noise ordinances. All persons must vacate the Clubhouse premises by this time.
- Member must agree not to make, or cause to have made, any keys to the Clubhouse.
- The rental reservation is limited to the use of the Clubhouse.
- Smoking is prohibited in the Clubhouse, kitchen, and restrooms for health and fire safety reasons.
- Alcoholic beverages (BYOB -beer and wine only) can be consumed; however, the selling of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited.
- Member must agree to limit all parking to designated parking areas only, and will not allow parking on residential streets.
- Use of the marina area/docks for boat mooring is not allowed, and bay beach facilities are not included in the agreement to rent the Clubhouse.
- Swimming is not permitted.
- No swimsuits, towels, or wet clothing are allowed in the Clubhouse. You must be fully clothed, with shoes on – no bare feet – to enter the Clubhouse. Adults must supervise children outside of the Clubhouse.
- The premises (including Clubhouse and parking lot) will be inspected before and after occupancy of the Clubhouse.
- An adult must accompany any children attending this event under the age of twenty-one (21) years. If alcoholic beverages are being served, Member will be responsible to ensure that persons under twenty-one (21) years of age are not served.
- If the rental of the Clubhouse is for a function including children and/or young adults through the age of twenty-one (21), one adult must be present at the event for every ten children/young adults. A chaperone list must be attached to the agreement.
- Member must agree to pay for the hiring of a Township police officer for security during the period of their rental, if required.
- A reservation is considered confirmed at the time this signed Agreement, rental fee, deposit, and evidence of insurance are received by the Club, and approved by the Board of Governors. All checks should be made payable to OBYC from the member’s own checking account. Checks from non-members will not be accepted. There will be a $30.00 charge for returned checks.
- Any requests for changes in the rental date or times must be pre-arranged with the Club representative who approved this request and noted in writing as an addendum to the rental agreement.
- In the event of catastrophe, an act of God, or substantial damage, in which the Clubhouse becomes unavailable, all security deposits and rental fees will be returned to the proper person. The Member will not hold the Club liable for cancellation of their reservation.
- The Club will not be held responsible for loss or disappearance of items left on the premises after the completion of the event.
- Member understands and agrees that the security deposit will be used to pay for loss of key or failure to return key on a timely basis and/or the cleaning and/or the damages resulting from and including, but not limited to, the Clubhouse area, the furniture, interior, or any other portion of the Club property, from my actions or the actions of persons attending, or in any other way related to my rental event. If costs of repair exceed the amount of the deposit, the Member agrees to pay the Club the full cost of all repairs within ten (10) days of receipt of written explanation of the damages and a bill from the Club for such repairs.
- Member agree that all deposits, legal fees, fines, actual costs incurred, and expenses incurred by the Club as a result of the use of the Clubhouse under this Agreement shall be considered an assessment and constitute a lien against their property and shall be fully collectible.
- Member assumes all responsibility, risks, liabilities, and hazards incidental to the activities applied for (including, but not limited to, the serving of alcoholic beverages) and hereby releases and forever discharge the Club, its officers, directors, employees, agents, members, present, past, and future, their sureties, insurers, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, costs, causes of action, and liability for personal injury or death and damage to or destruction of property arising from my event.
- Member agrees to INDEMNIFY and HOLD HARMLESS the Club, its officers, directors, employees, agents, members, present, past, and future, their sureties, insurers, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, costs, causes of action, and liabilities (including but not limited to attorney’s fees) for any and all injuries, to either person or property, suffered by me, my family members, employees, agents, servants, guests, or invitees.
I am a member of the Club, am at least twenty-one (21) years of age, and will be in attendance at the event. I agree and represent that the Clubhouse will be used for lawful purposes only and that if any conduct at the function I am sponsoring violates federal, state, or local laws or ordinances or violates the Club’s By-Laws or Rules and Regulations, my rights to use the Clubhouse under this agreement shall terminate and the Club shall have the right to inspect at any time and take possession of the Clubhouse and instruct my guests to leave and all security deposits and rental fees will be forfeited.
I have enclosed a copy of my Liability Insurance showing $1,000,000.00 in coverage, and a letter from my insurance company, on their letterhead, showing my policy number, date of event, and that my policy covers the event at the Ocean Beach & Yacht Club.
I have carefully read and understand this Rental Agreement and Regulations and agree to be bound by its terms.
Rental Fees
- Clubhouse Rental Fee: $275
- Security Deposit: $550
Separate checks for the Rental Fee and Security Deposit must be delivered to Ocean Beach & Yacht Club. Security deposit is fully refundable after Club Administrators verify the Clubhouse was left in good standing after rental has concluded.
Cancellation Policy
If the cancellation is received in writing within (30) days of the scheduled use date, the rental and deposit fees will be fully refunded. Cancellations up to (7) days in advance will result in the return of the deposit and ½ the rental fee. Cancellations less than (7) days in advance will forfeit the entire rental and deposit fees.
