Understanding Your Role as a Board Member

A complete overview of requirements and responsibilities of being a Board of Governors member can be found in the By-laws. The following are key points of priority and will not be shared with the broader membership.

To qualify as a candidate for the Ocean Beach & Yacht Club Board of Governors, you must meet specific criteria pursuant to the By-laws (please check all that apply)

I am named on the deed as a homeowner of my property

I am a member in good standing with the Club

I have been a homeowner and member for no less than 1 year

As a member of the Board, you are making a commitment to the community. Please review some of what these commitments entail below (please check all that apply):

I understand that I must be present, in-person, for all Board meetings (unless otherwise noted) and must not miss more than 3 consecutive meetings in a calendar year

I understand that I will serve on a Committee and be responsible for executing various responsibilities

I understand that I will be handling sensitive information and will respect the privacy of all community members

I understand that this position is entirely volunteer and there is no compensation of any kind

I understand that access to sensitive information cannot be used for personal or professional gain of any form
