OBYC held its 43rd Annual Memorial Day picnic at the clubhouse grounds. Inclement weather did not stop members and friends from attending the picnic. Tents were set up in the parking lot where everyone enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage with onions and peppers sandwiches, and beer, soda, soft drinks, wine and cocktails. OBII hosted the Second Annual All Women Lifeguard Tournament. Four local beach women lifeguard teams competed in six events. Our OBII women lifeguards took FIRST PLACE. Second place went to the Silver-Monterey Shores women lifeguards. A tie for third place between Seacrest Beach and Normandy Beach led to a tie breaking tug-of-war event. The Seacrest Beach women lifeguards won the tug-of-war and took third place. The Normandy Beach women lifeguards placed fourth. On Friday evening, August 14th, Seacrest Beach hosted the last local beaches lifeguard tournament of the 2026 season. Nine lifeguard teams competed in six events. Our OB2 lifeguards took 3rd place.
