Dorothy Elizabeth Grega Pizzarelli, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, NY, died on November 18, 2021, at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY.
She was the daughter of the late Anna Albrecht Grega and Michael Grega, Sr. She was predeceased by one sister, Theresa Grega and four brothers, Michael Grega, Jr., Joseph, Paul and John Grega.
Known by her family and friends as Dotty. Dotty was a graduate of the Poughkeepsie High School Class of 1952. She worked with her classmates on many class reunions. Dotty was employed by the Dutchess County Department of Social Services for 25 years as a staffing services assistant, retiring in 1996.
Following her retirement, she enjoyed being a volunteer at the Information Desk at St. Francis Hospital.
Dotty loved entertaining her family at her OB2 shore house every summer and spending time with her friends within the community. Dotty loved going to casinos in Atlantic City, playing bingo, bowling and playing bridge.
Dotty was married June 19, 1955, to Frank Pizzarelli, Sr., who predeceased her on June 10, 1999.
Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life. She is survived by Frank and Julie Pizzarelli, Jr., Nancy and Fred Robertson, and Karen and Jim Roach, whom she lived with. Her grandchildren, Matt and wife Lisa Robertson, Dan and wife Jennifer Pizzarelli, Michele and husband Chris Kalimeras, Deanna and husband Korey Dotterer, Jenna and husband Rocco Runza, Lauren Roach and Christopher Roach. Her great-grandchildren, Adrianna Kalimeras, Lorenzo Pizzarelli, Madison Pizzarelli, and Michael Robertson, Lucas Runza, and Charlotte Runza, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her great-grandson, Leo Runza.
